Approximately 1,500 people attended the Samurai Beach Nude Carnival at Tomago National Park, Anna Bay, Port Stephens, on November 17, 2002.

The weather was ideal for a wide variety of events including a Volley Ball Tournament, a Tug O' War competition and, "nude boot-scooting".

Nudists also competed for the titles of Mister and Miss Samurai Beach 2002!

The event had full support of the Australian National Parks and Wildlife Service.

Many feared this year's Carnival would be cancelled after the recent sale of the successful Bardots' Nude Village Resort to Port Stevens Council. The fears proved unwarranted as the Carnival went on without a hitch.

The local Lions Club provided food services and life guard and emergency services were also on hand.
